My name is Shane Green and my passion is hillclimbing! I am 19 years old and the only pro hillclimber from Illinois. I have been
on the hills for about 13 years. My amateur bikes were YZ250, KTM380 and a
KX500. This link will tell you about my amateur career for the last few years:
Shane Green Amateur
Hill Climbing
In 2003, at the Nationals in Dickeyville, WI., I won the 1st place title on my 85cc
Yamaha YZ. The 2008 Nationals was held at Waterford, Ohio. In the 250cc class,
I placed 3rd on my Yamaha. In the 600 class, I rode a KX 500, the bike that
everyone likes to watch me ride. On the first day I sailed up the hill with an
impressive 8.5 seconds taking 2nd place out of 57 other riders in this class. The
second day I did not improve my time but still claimed 2nd place.
My first pro hill climb was Oct. 5, 2008 at the East-West Shootout, Nashville,
IN.
